As we continue on the journey of exploring Sabbatical Vibrations’ values, I feel compelled to say I don’t have a favorite value. The five values combined truly exemplify what Sabbatical Vibrations is all about.
However, if I *did* have a favorite value, it would be this one…
Story Sharing – We value the pricelessness of story sharing. Exchanging stories gives meaning to life, fosters belonging, connects the past to the present, and gives hope for the future.
I don’t think anyone reading this will be rolling their eyes at this point; but if you are, I understand. This is not your typical “business value”. It is personal and intimate and vulnerable. One could ask how sharing experiences can drive a business.
This value is all about connection and unity. This value says: Sabbatical Vibrations cares about you. This implies that we want to know who you are, where you came from and where you are going. We want to build a relationship with our customers, whether that relationship is 5 minutes or 15 years.
Connecting with others through story sharing has literally saved my life. Inviting people in to be present with me for joys and sorrows gives me hope. Being present with others in their triumphs and tragedies gives me a purpose. Relating to people who seem completely opposite to me gives meaning to strange experiences. When I make those connections, I feel part of something bigger.
Story sharing can bring insight, new perspective and intrigue. The story we are each part of is constantly evolving.
Take this current time, for instance. Last year at this time, could anyone have predicted we would be in the middle of a pandemic? Talk about a curve ball in all our stories! I didn’t see that one coming. Honestly, at this time last year I wouldn’t have been able to predict I’d be launching a business right now, either. The stories I listened to over the last year from other entrepreneurs helped give me the courage to step into this adventure. I am currently clinging to stories of business that weathered life storms during their first years as business owners. These connections give me strength.
We love to hear your stories and invite you to share them with us. We hope our connections give you strength, too!
