It may not feel like it, but YOU have the power to live a life grounded in the present moment. Almost anyone can choose to be in the “here and now” at any given time. We believe that is possible with a sabbatical mindset.

You may be thinking, “What is a sabbatical, anyway? And why is it important?” Or, “I’m too busy,” or “I can’t afford a sabbatical!”
Traditionally, a sabbatical is a paid or unpaid leave from work to study or travel. Employees spend this time in personal or professional development and return to their job after a period of time. Some people take personal sabbaticals, where they step away from their job for personal enrichment. This type of sabbatical allows them to return to work and contribute to their job more effectively. Unlike a vacation, a sabbatical typically spans months and the focus is on growth versus relaxation.

While most people cannot take a traditional sabbatical, we believe in and strongly encourage intentional breaks from work for personal growth. Studies show that time away from work reduces stress, increases productivity, fosters better sleep, decreases health issues, and allows for mindfulness. Setting aside blocks of time to engage in personal growth will help you be more present and effective in your daily life.
